Constitution 1: Who should be called master?
Constitution 1: Who should be called master?
Even when I am in my own house, I say that I am the master of the house. Then we have a feeling of belonging, which is called the feeling of ownership. I keep enjoying myself with happiness. If there are any rights of any other person then I will decide them. If there are community rights on it in addition to other rights, then I still get to decide, at least I have an active and decisive participation in the decision making process. Not only this, I also have a decisive role in the process of banning its use. I have complete freedom to decide which item I use in my house and which item is used equally by all the members of the house. This freedom is a symbol of mastery.
The same thing happens when the material is used in common. I have to keep in mind that the other persons also have the same freedom along with my freedom to consume the material. Then the rules of temporal ownership apply. In temporary ownership, ownership is acquired with other owners. In this way, we consume the things available in the house in cooperation with each other. Then the responsibility of every person in the house increases, in regard with keeping the things in good condition for the consumption of other members of the family. Responsibility is also equal to ownership. After that, the number of members in your family increases a lot. Near about 150 Crores. Then you or your family distributes all the things among you and invites some people on your behalf to take care of it for you. You retain the right to consume. But you give the power to divide the things for consumption among your family members. At the same time the owner also gives the responsibility of taking care of the property to these persons. You as owner would have given the right to appoint people at their disposal to do all the work. And most importantly, you would also give them the right to decide welfare policies to do all these things.
Over time, you will not be able to bear the expenses of caregiving, the expenses of the maids who took care of you, and the expenses of the people you hired. Then you make proper investment of your things and give them to the representatives and servants who have the power to make arrangements for expenses out of utilisation of your things. Yes, the policies of investment are also of course within the power of the public representatives and the working class. Everything is fine till here. Your ownership is intact.
But as things progress, you start feeling as if you are not the owner. The representative is the owner. And here in the servant class it seems as if they are not your representatives, they are the owners of your things. The matter falls back to take care of your things and distribute them as per your convenience and to appropriate them for you. Just for the sake of using the given rights and achieving the upliftment of the representative and servant class through it, these matters do become important. In view that they can do everything without any hesitation, systematic efforts are made so that you should forget that in reality you are the master.
To give a small example, when you hold an election in your family to choose your representatives, it is not news that you choose so-and-so and so-and-so. So it is reported that some groups, some parties, and some people came to power. You do not come to power. Then what kind of master are you? One has to hear that the government of this or that has come to power. Your government is not coming anywhere.
To give another small example regarding the working class, when you vandalise the things belonging to your family, you say that the bus belongs to the corporation. When you want to use any thing, you have your own feeling that it belongs to the government, to the forest department, to the gram panchayat. So what kind of master are you?
All these things have happened and are happening in your family. Because you have forgotten what is the purpose of appointing representatives and servant classes. You forget that you are the master of all the things in your family.
Let's take a simple example. It happened that once a group of very enterprising, honest character, pure minded persons decided to start some business. In that they invested huge capital for a very long term. As the scope of the business was huge, they divided their business into different divisions. They appointed a chief manager. Each section viz. Security, Finance, Commerce, Industry, Labor Welfare, Audit, Transport etc. are named according to business requirements. Each of these departments is assigned a head of department. After this, the group of owners decided to entrust the work of all these departments to the head of the department and other employees of his department as well as the chief manager. As department heads and employees initially pretended to be working well and with integrity, the owners became even more free. Over time, the owner felt that there was no need to pay attention to the affairs of department heads and employees. Then the master began to sleep contentedly. The head of the department said that since some of the owners needed some things, they woke up from sleep in the middle and told the head of the department to bring certain things in our business to the owners. Then the head of the department said that those who are sleeping also have the right to the matters that you are asking for. Get their permission, then we will reach out. Now where will the permission of those who are sleeping come from? The head of the department said that then you will not get it. We will keep it under our control for the welfare of all. Some of them were sleeping, some were half awake, some were fully awake but with no energy, this is the condition of the owners. Then tell me, what should be the status of the business in this example? That business e.g. if it applies to your family, what will happen to your family?
My dear citizens of India, you must be so intelligent that you must have noticed that your family name is Indian Union. When a farmer of a field sows the field and then sleeps. Then the crop comes in that field. But it grows more unnecessary weeds than that crop. If you do not clean filth, even pigs and stray dogs grows to eat it. Of course, one who sleeps and does not clean his trash cannot be called a master. So if you want to be master of your family, you should be aware. Those who are half awake should strengthen their hands. You should consciously participate in the task of cleaning up the tangles. Once it is cleaned, just like cleaning the house in Diwali, you feel the house as your own. You will also feel this country as yours. Then you as a lord will be able to take decisive part in many aspects of ownership such as proper division, proper appropriation, prevention of unnecessary expenses. Right now you are the master but only when you take such a decisive role, you will get the moral right to call yourself the master of this family. Otherwise, the life you are living today should be considered as your proper qualification. As a writer, I am worth as much as a white flower laid at the feet of Mother India. But the value of the thoughts I have presented today is not even less than the value of Kaustubh Mani in the crown of Mother India. This Yajna of speech is offered at the feet of Mother India.
